Poznan

Travelling from Warsaw to Berlin, we stop at Poznan.

A city of some 500.000 people, the main central area contains some  fascinating statues and fountains, and is flanked by colourful and intriguing buildings.

First problem we had in Poznan was Gemma trying to keep a lid on Elises’s enthusiasm :

But then Sonja stepped up to the mark, to prove that a phone is as good as a big as a camera.

Who needs friends when you have a whole gang ready to photobomb your selfie?

Meanwhile back in the real world, the ageless Poznan still shows its style:

As in many areas of Eastern Europe, the terraced buildings, (dare we call them semis – seems inappropriate in the circumstances) show their individuality with colour and decoration. I am sure that, beyond the reach of tourists, there is a rich history behind the surface colours and the painted details.

While having lunch, seated by the fountain, a friend came to visit, and politely ask if it could share. How could one resist such a polite enquiry?? Not at all like its cousin in Helsinki, who looked more like one of the hell-born from du Maurier.

In fact this one was so friendly, it approached to within about about 25cm (about a foot for you retrogrades) without a sign of trepidation or fear.

Meanwhile the Williams clan (if by name, but not by familial ties) gathered around the fountain. Sonja continues to show her expertise at photobombing!!

The cheeky gang tries to show their innocence, but the Illuminati knows better!!!
